Well, then.  Bend me over, ball-gag me, apply baby oil, and call me Jim.

I've learned why this site has been growing at a "less than appreciable" rate since rising from the dead approximately 3 months ago:  many people are not able to make it past the email activation link stage.  It simply isn't working for them.  Nice.  I have gone ahead and disabled email activation and switched things over to an immediate activation scheme.  While less secure against spam, this will get the place moving more than it has been since users will find the registration process to be far easier than before.  Sorry to anyone who had problems.

NOW the catch:

I need all of you to keep an eye peeled for spamming and abuse.  We might now be more susceptible to it than before due to the registration change.  All you need to do is click the "Report Post" link if you see something that doesn't belong on the site.

this is MV.  i use this account to test the site since it's just a regular user account, which means i can see what everybody else sees.

we have just finished a major upgrade to the forum software.  some things might be fixed that were working incorrectly before, and some things might now be broken.  it's too early to know.  please post here with any problems you encounter so that they can be addressed.
