Pat Robertson is All Kinds of Crazy

I'm sorry if this isn't appropriate here.  This made me laugh and I wanted to share.

Christian Broadcasting Network Warns Against 'Demonic' Halloween Candy

Huffington Post
UPDATE: CBN has removed the blog. The original text is available here.
-----
Pat Robertson's Christian Broadcasting Network posted a blog by Kimberly Daniels recently that warns Christians to forgo celebrating Halloween because of its evilness. Daniels specifically calls out candy as a source of soul-molestation:

"During this period demons are assigned against those who participate in the rituals and festivities. These demons are automatically drawn to the fetishes that open doors for them to come into the lives of human beings. For example, most of the candy sold during this season has been dedicated and prayed over by witches."

Obviously, we shouldn't be buying Halloween candy, but what about getting it by trick-or-treating?

"Curses are sent through the tricks and treats of the innocent whether they get it by going door to door or by purchasing it from the local grocery store. The demons cannot tell the difference."

Darn.

We wholeheartedly agree with Daniels and have put together a handy guide of outrageously demonic candy to stay away from this (and every) season.

They could really step it up and make a buck here by selling some Jesus Candy.
There's obviously a demand.

i used to think pat robertson had his place.  i just accepted that there are some people who are ultra religious and they fill a certain slot in the whole of our social makeup.  however, after 911, i heard he and jerry falwell blame gay people for 911... and i couldn't believe they'd said that.  robertson is a douche of the highest order, and falwell... well... he fell well.

It's kind of funny how there's really no line between the mainstream and fucking crazy in society anymore. Personally I don't know how Americans didn't tear him limb from limb with their bare hands for him comments immediately after 9/11.

This is no shit....I should write a book.

I spent ten years married to a Southern Baptist Minister.  During this time the Southern Baptist Convention voted that we all boycott Disney.  Yes, the Disney that brought us Mickey Mouse.  Why? you say?  Because Disney was one of the first companies to allow domestic partners to get health insurance.  It was all about closing your pocketbooks because they condone homosexuality and treat the gays well.

I was like , "Um, you're kidding right?"  Nope.  New rule.  Had to be enforced.

I wound up leaving that man in the middle of the night with what clothes and personal items that I could fit in my car.  I drove to the Chicago area and rented an apartment sight-unseen.  I was free, still young and made the most of it.  ;)

WOW.  that sounds like a really interesting story in terms of the details of how you planned that out, worked up the courage, executed the plan, and waded through the aftermath (if any).  would loooove to hear more.

We'll have to get together for a drink some time and I'll tell you all about it.  It's hilarious.  I will give you one spoiler.  My ex husband pulled an Art after I left and bought a Flip wife.  Maybe he thought he could keep her under control.  We used to get into wicked arguments about me not sending in payments to Christian Children's Fund.  God told him he had to do that, but I wrote the checks :)  It's kind of the same thing...sponsoring a child....sponsoring a wife.  Same difference only he gets to sleep with a hot Asian girl now.  LMAO

Well i guess all the churches in my area are screwed. Every year for as long as i can remember they have handed out this "demonic" Halloween candy. Heck, even the Mennonites sell the "demonic candy" in their family stores around Halloween too.

Pat Robertson lost his relevancy a long time ago.

...And then Jesus announced from the rock with which he stood upon and he said "Ye, go out upon the land, and smear the queers. The Jesus as spoken."

...hmm, that doesn't sound very Christian. There must have been a secret song in the bible with all the hate towards gays that I completely missed somewhere.

Ha ha ha ha!  You have a way with words.

It's all about conditional love, tepid acceptance and fraudulent forgiveness.

I'd also like to throw in a helping of false optimism.

You can pretty much blame Old Pat for why the Republican party has as many loons as it does now.

I agree. Without people like Robertson and Falwell facially raping  the Republican party all these years, the party and the conservative movement would probably be much farther along than they've  managed to be.

Sunday's C2C broadcast cleared that debate up for us.  The anti-christ is Prince William.

C'mon people, PR aside, Halloween's history is kinda anti-Christian. Samhain and all that. Google, my fiendish-friends :)

halloween ... a celtic, nature-worshipping tradition.  and a lot of fun.  would it still be anti-christian if everyone handed out Pat Robertson's Jesus Candy?

If Pat were making money from the candy, then it would most certainly be right up there with Easter and Christmas.

I used to have a Holiness Pentecostal friend who made a sign for her yard that said "It's Not About This" above an Easter egg.  Her religion was wacky but she was an awesome girl.  Her pastor has been a guest on C2C.  His name is Irvin Baxter, Jr.  He's getting them all ready for the end....all the time....for the past thirty years or so.   :P

The congregation isn't allowed to have tvs or radios, but they are allowed to have the internet.  Makes tons of sense.  You can get any vile thing your little heart desires online.

Classic mind control technique.  You hype up something to the point that people believe you without question, and they will do almost anything you ask... Apocolyptic pastors; 2012 Doomsayers; Al Gore; Yes We Can; the Second Iraq Invasion; and any other world phenomenon based on a lie or an inflation of a truth.
