I listened to last night's show with the web bot prediction guy.  He's claiming that there will be a big earthquake in California the last two days of July that will affect roadways and water flows for months.  Let's see........

I looked up Jim Berkland's website to see if he was also predicting a big one.  He hasn't updated his website since June. 

I also went back and checked the predictions special portion of the C2C website to see if anything is mentioned.  Someone did predict that there would be a 6.0 in northern CA during 2010.

You know here's an idea... we should round up all the comments like this around the net (believe me, there's literally thousands and thousands of paragraphs worth of words from frustrated Coast fans) put them all together in some presentable form, and then begin bombing all of George's advertisers, affiliates, and Clear Channel execs. Out of all the plans I've seen online to get the Nooron fired, I've never seen one actually go for the throat and do something that would actually mean anything. It actually wouldn't be that hard to do and I bet you could illicit a huge response within three months. Especially if you cite Nooron's declining numbers and loss of affiliates.

Why someone like CNET or some big internet based company hasn't thrown a wad of cash at Art Bell to do a weekly one hour internet/radio show...

Noory is horrible. Maybe they bought out Art and put Noory in because Noory is a big phony and Art Bell and his version of it was too real.

(and no, I cannot post that information in detail as it is privileged trade-secret work product and proving my contention by facing legal action is not warranted) 
That is immaterial however since C2C is part of a programming package.  In essence, stations are told something along the lines of "If ya want Rush, ya gotta take Noory".  Thus, it is a logical and factual fallacy to judge C2C's popularity solely on the basis of the number of affiliates which carry the show, largely it is carried because it is the sausage parts of the prime meat package.
If one were to see C2C marketed solo, instead of en suite the truth would be apparently virtually "over night".

PS  I forgot to add that, having spoken with two different programming directors in this area, (and I suspect this is a pretty universal observation) late night programming is something of a fool's errand; either you carry infomercials, generate something local (inevitable failure for the most part) or tag on Noory as part of the programming package.  That is in fact how C2C is marketed in the radio world--the least difficult, least invasive and offensive solution.  The real humor lies in the fact that the sales people rarely lead with The Gilded Turd as host; it is usually flogged as "Art Bell's show Coast to Coast".  What does that tell you about how highly Nuri is esteemed by the distributors of his nightly crapfest?

Caught the last few minutes of a repeat tonight.. LMH was on apologizing because apparently all through her segment she was reading off the wrong script from the one George was reading and I guess kept asking questions from his script creating an hour long fucking mess of two people having two separate conversations together. What's hilarious is apparently neither one caught on that they were on the wrong script through the entire segment. This would be an epic fail in a Jr. High drama rehearsal but on a multi-million dollar late night franchise worldwide radio program? What can you even say.

Also remember when Art kept his callers questions actually on topic for the guest? Yeah... that shit was awesome.

     I like Hoagland.  He's funny, smart, and doesn't let the facts deter him from his quest to prove whatever it is he's obsessed about at any particular moment.  Tonight he called everyone at NASA "liars" for releasing more photos of his beloved Cydonia showing it to be nothing more than a big piece of boring, non human face looking, rock.  Lighten up, Richard, the Cydonia thing made you famous, it was fun, but lets stay classy and move on.
     George mentions the "hate" groups again during his shout out to his minions.  For the record, I don't hate George.

What he actually said last night was that C2C now has the most affiliates in the history of the show and that the numbers continue to climb.
Then he tipped his hat to (paraphrase) "All the nice people in those support groups.... these are good people who you would take out to dinner....not hateful people in those hate groups that spring up from time to time and then eventually disappear".
This was right after he said "Do you ever witness a C2C show or a portion of one that you wish that you had witnessed?"....during one of his commercials.
It sickened me to hear his voice crackle with ego after a caller (who claimed to have the power to turn off street lights with his presence) told Boory how happy and joyous his program was.

last summer, we had a huge influx of low IQ trolls, flamers, and general paranoids who hated this site and its users.  using the forum became as pleasurable an experience as receiving a facial rape.  worst of all, it was causing our long-time members to leave the site due to the profound degradation of the whole experience here.  those people have since been replaced by some of the most intelligent, thoughtful people i've come across, but they're still missed nonetheless.  the whole mess last summer was my fault entirely.  i wasn't enforcing any part of the TOS (trying to fix the situation by being a nice guy), and i failed to stop the moderators from exacerbating the situation with the problem people.  i was AWOL.  this place was being run by nobody.


things got bad enough that the site was permanently taken down in august 2009.  three months later, after some careful consideration, it was decided that we should give it another go, and a number of changes were made to facilitate the forum's reboot.  we rebranded the forum from GeorgeNoorySucks.com to CoastGab.com, the problem people were permanently removed from the situation, and the terms of service were almost completely rewritten and are now actually enforced (although the TOS here are still far looser than is the case on almost any other message board you'll find).  also, in an effort to fix the errors of the past, we now have only one moderator.  things have run beautifully ever since the forum was reopened.  i think with the changes that were made, it'll continue to be a great forum.  we really do have some amazing people here.

days of Art Bell, and thus my search brought me here. So as a newb to this forum(great forum btw), i'd just like
to say i'm glad Art is back filling in on Fridays(etc) periodically, cause George is just too blah and plays the radio
dj thing too much(imo). After listening to his dumbing down his guests with rhetorical responses .. i'm starting
to really like Punnett & Knapp. Noory seems like a nice guy, but i dunno, just bland. Plus i don't really care much
more for the regulars who fill in cause there's really no guests booked lol, like: Hoagland & Moulton Howe, both

holy shit.  isn't THAT the truth... especially with hoagland.  he's always prattling on about "something huge right around the corner."  it must be an enormous corner, because after OVER a decade of listening to this jism satchel, nothing has EVER come "around the corner."  what an arse log.

Not only can George Noory not carry an interview, he cannot modulate his voice. Art was a master at writing the show with pauses, vocal intonation, and just plain being involved in the conversation. Talk radio is like writing a book. When you listen to a recent Noory show you get lulled to sleep. The show is one long boring sentence. The only time you are woken up in the storyline is when he makes some outrageous comment about conspiracy, religion or the government. And usually it just turns my stomach. Granted, I am a lefty in the political spectrum. But everything in a Noory show these days is eventually tied to some right wing political talking point which usually resides around distorted/misleading thinking or fear inducing topics.

It makes me wonder how much the owners of Clear Channel, The Bain Group or Bain Capital Partners, which is a Mitt Romney private equity firm changed the programming since 2008. One big political ad streaming out of your radio every night. I never really enjoyed Noory but some of his shows after he took over for Art bell could have been interesting and intellectually stimulating. He just couldn't pull it together to make it a fantastic show. The excuse was "he was being compared to Art Bell which is too high a standard to live up to". Now I compare the old shows to the past two years and I actually wish for old George Noory style shows. At least they were not offensive or just plain stupid. But I finally come to the point that Noam Chomsky espouses. That Noory has just found his level. The perfect storm so to say. He is a Religious right wing zealot that was given the green light to just be himself. It is not a conspiracy but just like minded people congregating and finding themselves in the same place. People that believe in Right Wing conservative thinking will apply for jobs at places like Clear Channel and Fox News more readily.

So I had to drop my Streamlink subscription because every night I was getting bombarded by the Conservative talking point of the day and there was no intellectually stimulating conversation to keep the show interesting. It was not too far away from listening to Limbaugh or the TV version of Noory, Glenn Beck. Even the Somewhere in Time shows had Noory segments with scary conspiracy/anti Obama dialog. God, could my time with old Art bell shows not have a Noory voice implanted in it.
